Masses were held for the Lithuanian people of Girardville as early as 1904. In 1906, Father MILAKAS began to form his congregation. He and several church members bought the Armory Hall from the Girard Estate in 1906 which was remodeled into a church. St. Vincent de Paul Church, was blessed by the Archbishop on November 1, 1907. In 1923, the structure was torn down and a new church was consecrated in November of 1925. The address for St. Vincent's is 260 North Second Street, Girardville, Pennsylvania.

Maizeville was named for Michael F. MAIZE, a coal operator. St. Louis Lithuanian R.C. Church first took over the Primitive Methodist Church building. Its first pastor was Rev. A.M. MILAKAS. This Church was destroyed by fire on September 26, 1914 and rebuilt in 1915. In 1967, St. Louis Church was again destroyed by fire and a new church was erected and renamed Our Lady of Siluva. It is located on Main Street.
